Is ScoutSash official?

No. ScoutSash is an independent, unofficial study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Scouting America. Checking off a requirement in the app does not officially complete it — only a registered merit badge counselor and your unit's advancement process can do that.

How much does it cost?

ScoutSash is free.

How do I read pamphlets offline?

Open a badge and tap Download. Once the pamphlet is saved to your device, you can read it with no internet connection. Use the storage manager in Settings to see how much space your downloads use and remove any you no longer need.

Does the app remember my page?

Yes. ScoutSash saves the last page you viewed in every pamphlet and reopens to it automatically.

Will my progress sync to my other devices?

If iCloud sync is on, your progress, notes, and reading positions sync across your own iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud. Downloaded pamphlet files aren't synced — each device downloads them as needed. You can turn sync off in Settings.

Do I need an account?

No. ScoutSash works without any account or login. See our Privacy Policy.

A requirement looks out of date — what do I do?

Requirements change over time. ScoutSash updates its content periodically, but the official current requirements always govern. If you spot something off, let us know at [email protected] and verify against the official source.

How do I delete my data?

In Settings you can remove downloads and reset progress and notes for a badge or for the entire app. To remove synced data, you can also manage it from your device's iCloud settings.
